About MaPP

The Moms and POPs Project (MaPP)

MaPP was begun by the Commonweal Biomonitoring Resource Center and MOMs (Making Our Milk Safe) to encourage discussion about how breastmilk monitoring and the sharing of information about toxic chemicals in breastmilk can be done in ways that do not discourage women from breastfeeding. This is essential, because breastmilk remains the best food for babies and clearly helps babies withstand exposures to toxic chemicals found in our environment.

 By exploring this site, you can:

Learn more about  previous breastmilk and other biomonitoring projects;

Share your thoughts about what makes a biomonitoring project empowering and truly useful;

Help write fact sheets that  might be used in biomonitoring projects;

Learn more about toxic chemicals and how to avoid exposures;

Talk to others who want to develop best biomonitoring practices for their own communities.

You will need to register as  a MaPP partner to join these activities.
